What is KEF?
The Kaspa Ecosystem Foundation (KEF) provides funding, resources, and guidance. It upholds impartial principles to support the Kaspa ecosystem and advance its mission of becoming a widely used currency for everyday transactions.
Why was it created?
KEF aims to collaborate with the community to promote the development, adoption, and sustainability of the Kaspa ecosystem, empowering individuals and organizations to leverage Kaspa technology for a robust and diversified ecosystem.
What are the benefits?
A flourishing Kaspa ecosystem benefits all stakeholders. Miners gain from increased transaction activity. Holders enjoy speculative gains. Investors find opportunities in high-quality projects. Merchants boost sales with Kaspa’s expanding influence.

Funding sources include investors, donations, corporate sponsorships, and revenue from events, programs, and investments. The foundation prioritizes transparent financial reporting to ensure accountability and trust. Additionally, 20% of KEF’s profits are allocated to community development initiatives, like the Dev Fund and CMF (Community Marketing Fund).
Who is involved?
Initial seed funding comes from ICERIVER Venture. Collaborations include working with OKX Venture to bolster the Kaspa ecosystem. The Board of Directors, comprising representatives from Kaspa-centric companies like Coinpal, KASMedia, and Rhubarb Media, oversees the foundation’s strategy, initiative approval, and mission compliance.

Apart from offering financial support, the KEF fosters a dynamic, decentralized ecosystem comprising numerous independent organizations dedicated to providing funding, coordination, and guidance, all aimed at ensuring the long-term prosperity of Kaspa.

The KEF is accelerating Kaspa smart contract development by funding initiatives for recruitment, research, and more, to be overseen by Yonatan Sompolinsky.
